Solvent emissions

If your business uses organic solvents you may be subject to certain legal requirements. For example, your business may require require an environmental permit (England and Wales) or a pollution prevention and control (PPC) permit (Northern Ireland and Scotland) or you may need to comply with solvent limits in products such as paints, varnishes and vehicle refinishing products.

These legal requirements prevent or reduce the harmful effects of solvent emissions on human health and the environment.
